A little about me

As of 2020 I’m just over 60, and ‘older, but still growing’ – something Rogers said, and something I’ve come to understand about myself over the years.

I’m sorry, but I do not have any availability at this time. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I’ve been seeing people as a counsellor/psychotherapist since 2003, including working at the Nottingham Priory as a drug and addictions therapist (for a short while), and then as a volunteer at the Nottingham Counselling Service, and I’ve seen a fairly broad range of people, working with a fairly broad range of issues, from weight to worry (aka anxiety), from isolation and loneliness to feeling overwhelmed and swamped by others.

I trained at Temenos, starting in 1998, and I ensure I undergo regular ‘Continuing Professional Development’, and am, of course, in supervision.

I’ve worked with all kinds of people, from young adults to people of my own age and older, from people in the armed forces, the police, the NHS, students, professionals and, well, as I say, all kinds of people.

The way I work is ‘person centered’ as per Carl Rogers, and I’m an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, a member of The Person Centred Association, and listed on Psychology Today.
