Gaming chairs are notorious for being too bulky and too hot. With the PU leather and the thickly cushioned seats, many are switching to ergonomic office chairs for play. But there are gaming chairs that can be comfortable for more than 10 hours! And here are our top favorites!
GTRacing ($160)- Best for Lighter Gamers
Gaming chairs are all the hype. The bucket-style seat, thickly padded cushions and cool racing look complements your gaming setup. It can also dramatically increase your momentum. But the thing is, most affordable gaming chairs are about the looks. It gives you that racy gaming feels, yes. But not all will be able to provide you with a decent comfort good enough for 10 hours of continuous play.
The GTRacing gaming chair has that typical racy look that you would want in a gaming chair. It has that racy backrest with a bucket-style seat and thickly padded cushions. Another feature that made it stand out from the rest is that its affordable price points, it offers several features that you can find in more expensive gaming chairs.
The aesthetics are also key when you’re buying a gaming chair, and this chair will not deprive you of that. It gives you several color options, all of which look cool enough and racy enough.
We also love how it can seamlessly recline up to 170 degrees. The chair is pretty stable and solid too. It would be able to hold that recline well. And a thing to note though, the chair is said to be rated to hold 300 lbs. But we do recommend this only for lighter gamers. Aside from the seat being too narrow for heavier dudes, we are not sure if it will be able to hold itself up if the max weight is reached.
The seat height can also go high enough for taller people. As for the armrests, it has 2d armrests, so quite basic. But this is almost the same case with affordable gaming chairs. Unless you purchase a high-end model or an ergonomic office chair, then you will be able to enjoy 4d armrests
The biggest downside, however, is the bucket-style seat. This is one of the more notable features of most gaming chairs, aesthetically speaking. Sadly, as cool it looks, this limits the chair’s capacity to accommodate heavier individuals.
And the GT tracing hanging chair has a more pronounced bucket-style seat. That’s why lighter users will find this more comfortable. If you are on the heavy side, or a bit wider around the waist and hips, you will find this chair constricting. It’ll be too narrow for you.
The good news is, if you still want to use a GTRacing chair, the brand offers an upgraded version that doesn’t have the bucket-style seat. You’d be able to get it at an added cost.
Thus, this GTRacing gaming chair is best for lighter users who are on a budget.
Secretlab Titan Series ($500)- Best Premium
The Secret Lab Titan gaming chair has an upgrade in 2020. And we will be covering the newer model in this review. Though the previous model is already quite comfortable and robust, the newer model racks up more amazing features. So might as well take advantage of it.
Upon opening the box, this newer Titan chair has a wow factor. The chair looks premium, classy, and it’ll make you really excited to try the chair out. Luckily, it is easy to assemble so you will be able to use it right away.
One of the things that we noticed was that the seat mechanism was changed from plastic to metal adjustments. So this made the chair less prone to breakage. If the previous model is already stable, the metal construction in the new model will lengthen its life.
To be honest, the older Titan series was already really comfortable for sitting on for longer hours. It has a thickly padded cushion too. But what sets it apart from other racing-type gaming chairs is that it has a wider seat and does not have that bucket-style seat. And thank goodness for that because it’s too constricting. So this gaming chair can sit tall and heavy users comfortably.
And as for the weight capacity, it has a max load of fewer than 300 lbs, much lower than that of GT racing. But we find this premium chair to be able to hold up more weight than the GT racing gaming chair. Thus, it’s heavy-duty.
The PU leather of the new model does not have much of a difference from the older model. But still, when we compare it to other brands, it’s more durable. We had a Secret Lab Titan gaming chair that we have been using for over 5 years. And the PU leather materials are still intact. The stitches are tight, there are no loose ends. And the foam padding is still decently comfortable. Of course, a brand new chair will always be more bouncy. But for 5 years, it did not deflect nor sag dramatically as other gaming chairs would have.
Thus. the Secretlab Titan is our top pick for gaming chairs that can support heavy and tall gamers. It’s a real badass that can be comfortable even after several years of use. According to Standingdesktopper.com, if you want to get more office chair for work long hours, you should take a look at the competitor of Secret Titan, it’s DX Racer Drifting Series
Noblechairs ICON ($429.99)- Best Breathable
The gaming chair looks a lot similar to the Secretlab Titan. It also features a wider backrest and a wider seat that does not have that constricting bucket-style seat.
It also looks classy, simple, and posh, just the way high-end gaming chairs should look like. You’ll be able to miss out on the bi-color and funky ensemble. But this all-black faux leather and steel gaming chair can just make your eyes say wow. It’s gorgeous and stunning, to say the least.
The aesthetics will definitely fit into your description of a high-end chair. As for the comfort, you’re in for a treat. One of the things that we have noticed is how extra breathable the PU leather is. Most gaming chairs may become too hot. That’s one of the downsides of most gaming chairs. But the Noblechairs ICONS is quite cool and breathable.
The chair makes use of a high-quality PU leather material that allows for more exchange of air. So even if the seat and the backrest are sufficiently padded, it does not feel hot.
This is also why bulky gamers will find it comfortable to sit on for longer ours. The sturdy steel frame can take on the weight of 330 lbs. Plus the seat is very roomy, big for those with larger butts, err heavier weight.
And we just need to mention, this is also one of the more ergonomic gaming chairs that we have come across. Apart from the adjustable lumbar, the armrests of this gaming chair are adjustable in 4 ways.
VERTAGEAR S-Line 2000 ($565)- Best Ergonomic
We are loving the more simple and all-black ensemble compared to the usual racer-type gaming chairs many are accustomed to. That’s why we have favored these types of gaming chairs over the funky pop-colored ones. And these are for very good reasons.
The simplicity and sleekness of the all-black ensemble appeal to more users, especially those who want a minimalist look.
And more importantly, this gaming chair is packed with more features that will make it more comfortable for longer use. Like the Vertagear S line for instance. The foam padding of this gaming chair is thick, but it is highly resistant. So among the chairs on our list, this one will be the last to deform.
So the chair will be able to hold its most comfortable position as the years go by. Also, this is a heavy-duty chair. Heavy and taller users will be happy with this. Like the Nobel chars icon and the Secret Lab Titan, these are heavy-duty.
We also love the tilt locking system, it functions similarly to an ergonomic office chair. That’s why you’ll find it very comfy even for 10 hours of gaming. Even the headrest and the lumbar support are made of memory foam. So you already know how comfy and supportive that would feel.
This is also a great fit if you do not like putting things together. The slide in the mechanism can be assembled by one person, even if you aren’t a DIYer, you will not find it hard to set it up.
Final Say
So these are our top picks. And whether you are on a budget or you have more dough to shell, you can find the more comfortable gaming chair for continuous play.
